Re: Vircon32: Creating my own console

It's been some time since I last updated this, so I'll make a post. I have been working on making a racing game for the console. You can see the prototype I made in this video (with my comments in it). I was able to make a "mode 7" effect for the ground. https://twitter.com/vircon32/status...

Re: Vircon32: Creating my own console

Well, it finally happened. Vircon32 got officially accepted into RetroArch! That means you can now install the core automatically from RetroArch itself. This core works on Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS, tvOS, Raspberry Pi 4 and the Nintendo Switch. https://i.ibb.co/BCwyM9q/Vircon32-download-from...

Re: Vircon32: Creating my own console

So, about a week ago I bought this console. It is an Anbernic RG552, a decent emulation machine. I chose this model to turn it into a portable Vircon32 because it fits my console so well. It has widescreen, good d-pad placement and can run both linux and android. https://i.ibb.co/0KYCb20/Anbernic-RG...

Re: Vircon32: Creating my own console

It's been some time since I last updated this, so let's do that before the year ends  So, to make things easier for the 2nd Vircon32 jam I released a basic physics library: https://i.ibb.co/K7pGzyM/Library-Box-Collisions.gif I also made a simple example game that followed the jam theme: "S...

Re: Vircon32: Creating my own console

I recently took part in the MediaVida Game Jam VII with a Vircon32 game. The jam theme was "choose one". My idea was a platformer where you have 4 skills but you can only use one at a time. This is a small game trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpfYCnBdtis You can download the game ...

Re: Vircon32: Creating my own console

Any good entries catch your eye from previous compos? Well, the standout for me was Virconstein3D. The author even coded in assembly language to squeeze more performance hehe. I made this video with the jam games, you can see Virconstein at around 1:05. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8Fu7HihUP8
