What happened to the old website?

i just wanted to know what happened to the old website 
Loooooooooong story short, it was hosted on a really old version of PHPBB with a ton of mods and customization, and the host sunset the version of PHP required to run it (it wouldn't work on the later versions). No one wanted to take a stab at rehosting and conversion, so I gave it a shot. Not being a web guy, it was painful and I finally gave up, electing to reboot the board from scratch. It sucks, but if you know anything about the old GDR/TheCow days, reboots were like a yearly occurrence, so...
Here we are. Admittedly, most of the casual discussion happens in the discord channel, but we keep this going for obvious reasons. Discord will eventually enshittify beyond usefulness, and we'll be on to something different -- but the board will persist.
