Yeah. I've seen shows wrap-up much worse (#EndingsAreHard). Overall I'd say it was a good show. It represented the franchise extremely well. It's no Super Mario Bros Hollywood movie.
I did a bit of digging and I was surprised to see the show has actually been in "development hell" since 2007 (14 years ago, or roughly 10 years before it was greenlit). It was originally a film, and haha Iga made the writer
rewrite the script 8 times before approving it.
. The film became the story covered in seasons 1 and 2.
I remember early-on in the series thinking "man I hope they do Symphony of the Night's story"... except in hindsight, now that the show is over, I think the story presented here was interesting enough. Castlevania 3's story was half-assed, as it was a NES game. To be fair, it didn't need a story. Fighting Dracula was motivation enough. I pondered what other Castlevania stories might be worth telling, and while Leon (the 1st Belmont) or Soma Cruz (modern day take) would be interesting, I'm not really convinced they're necessary. If this is all the Castlevania show we get, I'll be fine with it. I wont complain about more Castlevania, but the show we got represents a series I love well enough that I'm content with it.
