The interpolation in itself seems pretty well done. But I feel that in some cases, all that smoothness makes the animation look worse. Some characters look to me more like taken from a flash game than from pixel art games. There are other cases where it feels better.

That's pretty respectable. I definitely expect someone to use it as the style of a game.

Pretty impressive but yes, in addition to being Depth-Aware it needs to be timing- and spacing-aware to not destroy the animators intent.

Oh I'm not expecting the artist to make it _the style_. It'll be some coder or other senior that mandates it.
